Cradle to Career Opportunities

Are you a parent from Bulwell who wants to make a difference?

Do you believe in the power of local people coming together to make things better for families in your area? If so, this could be just the role for you.

We’re looking for local mums, dads, carers, or grandparents to get involved as Volunteer Parent Organisers. In this role, you’ll be helping bring parents together to talk, listen, and take action on the things that really matter to families in Bulwell.

What’s it all about?

As a Volunteer Parent Organiser, you’ll help build connections between parents in Bulwell. You’ll start conversations with the networks, groups and friends you have in Bulwell, hear what people care about, and bring families together to share experiences and support each other.

You’ll get training and support to run simple listening activities like one-to-one chats and small group “house meetings”. These are friendly, relaxed spaces where people feel safe and confident to speak up. From there, you’ll help parents work together to tackle shared challenges and make local life better for families.

You will be volunteering with ‘One Vision Partnership’. We aim to bring the Bulwell Community together, sharing knowledge and experiences to help people work together.

What kind of person do we need?

You don’t need any special qualifications – just a real connection to Bulwell and a desire to make things better. We’re looking for people who:

Are parents or carers (or have been) – especially those raising children in Bulwell.
✔ Are good listeners who enjoy chatting to others and bringing people together.
✔ Want to see positive change and believe that local people should lead it.
✔ Can help others feel heard and included.
✔ Are up for learning new things and giving something back to the community.

What will you get from it?

This is a voluntary role, but it’s one that comes with loads of value:

  • Training in listening, leadership, and community organising.
  • Support every step of the way – you won’t be doing it alone.
  • Confidence to lead change and speak up for your community.
  • A sense of purpose – knowing you’re making a real difference for local families.
  • New connections and friendships with other like-minded parents in Bulwell.

Interested?

This is your chance to be part of something truly local and meaningful. If you’re ready to step up and speak out for parents in Bulwell – and support others to do the same – we’d love to hear from you. Complete this Application
