I didn’t originally join One Vision Partnership with a broad strategy in mind.
My starting point was simple: I wanted to explore how we could bring more colour and character into Bulwell High Street—through murals, art displays, and small changes that make a place feel more welcoming.
What I quickly realised is that ideas like that don’t happen in isolation.
Through OVP, I connected with local community groups who shared that same interest in improving the area.
What started as a single idea turned into something much bigger. By having those conversations and being part of the network, I found myself naturally becoming involved in a range of different projects—each with the same underlying goal: making Bulwell a better place to live, work, and spend time.
That’s the real value of OVP.
It’s not just about structured meetings or formal partnerships. It’s about access—access to people, to ideas, and to opportunities that you simply wouldn’t come across otherwise.
More Than Just a Network
Being part of OVP gives you:

You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed plan. In many ways, that’s the point—you develop it through the connections you make.
Staying Connected
Since getting involved, my own circumstances have changed. I’ve moved away from the area and now continue to support projects remotely.
But what hasn’t changed is the connection.
Through the relationships built within OVP, I still feel closely tied to Bulwell and its community. The work continues, the conversations continue, and the sense of shared purpose remains.
Why It Matters for Bulwell
Bulwell has strong foundations—a real sense of identity and community. What OVP does is strengthen the links between the people and organisations already contributing to that.
It helps turn individual efforts into something more coordinated, more visible, and ultimately more impactful.
