“The little litter pickers of Nottingham have been litter picking at Bulwell Bogs for 6 years. Their local councillors often in attendance and supportive of their work. The volunteers are also Nottingham clean champions and regularly attend other litter picking events not just the one here at Bulwell bogs.

People of all ages are welcome, they often have families come and join in, they have also attracted the attention of Notts TV, Keep Britain tidy and BBC radio Nottingham. Businesse’s don’t often join, but McDonalds have come and supported them recently and they have also been joined by the Nottingham rotary club, and an organisation called Green S welfare, they have many volunteers often families that travel all over the uk helping with similar organisations.

What started out as a women and her son litterpicking during lockdown, has now grew into a beautiful community group of like minded people who truly make a difference in the Bulwell community.

The little litter pickers of Nottingham also started conservation events and discovered a beautiful bench beneath lots of overgrown, brambles and ivy. The area had been neglected and the bench could not been seen, let alone used. The founder and organiser of the group Toni Robinson and her friend John Caually cut back all the over grow and tidied the area up. The bench is now often used by the locals and the two of them regularly check on and maintain the area.

If you would like to get involved in the next Bulwell bogs litter pick you can find out more information by checking out their Facebook page ‘The little litterpickers of Nottingham’ where they advertise their events.

For those of you that use the bins and are mindful of your litter, we appreciate you.
